Hi Francisco,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Central.

With regards to Huawei Harmony OS and Huawei Mobile Services, unfortunately it is currently not on our immediate road-map to support these devices. This is not to say it will never happen though.

The devices you listed above may be able to enroll using Android Enterprise since EMUI is based on Android. However, I suspect that if they are non-GMS then it will be unsuccessful. Either way, as Raymond has correctly mentioned, you should definitely carry out extensive tests with these devices before using them in a widespread deployment.

If the devices are non-GMS certified then the alternative would be to use Android Classic; this will almost certainly require a new Huawei-signed agent. To pursue this option, I would encourage you to open a new case with SOTI Support (support@soti.net) so we can discuss and investigate this potential further.

Kind regards,

Solution

What Huawei device models are you talking about?

I tested 4 Huawei models for my customer in the last 6 months.  Two did not support Android Enteprise, and the other two could get AE device agent installed, but there were different problems with various MDM policies.   Ever for the latter models, my customers had to think twice about the stability of Google-related features supported, as there is risks that something that works in the current version will suddenly be unsupported by Google in the near future.  The problem goes far beyond technical issues.

On the technical side, I suggest you or your customers to perform extensive tests on all  MDM features to be used before deciding on whether to purchase the device(s).  Beyond that,  it's really hard for any third-party to give any advice as there is big unpredictable risks related to financial investment for such hardware.

The four Huawei devices I recently tested were all mobile phones.  I am sorry I don't have access to any of the Huawei tablets you are interested in, and hence I have no related test results to share with you.
