We have a number of XCover4's and Active2 Tablets which the user accepted an update to the operating system which crashed the device. We've had the devices re-flashed by Samsung Support Centre, however after downloading Mobicontrol and trying to open it to configure it the device crashes. I have a call open to the helpdesk was wondering if anyone else had experienced the same issue and we are wondering if it is an Android/Mobicontrol version conflict of some description.

After the upgrade, what did you see on the device screen before it crash?  Are the reflashed firmware version exactly the same as the one before your  upgrade?

What were your Android firmware version numbers before and after the upgrade?  What about your MobiControl server?

What are the version and build numbers of your device agent?  What are the active MDM API's reported on the device agent configuration tab/info-tab of the device in your web-console before the firmware upgrade?

If there is a conflict between the agent version and the new firmware, the usual approach is to upgrade the agent version over-the-air  to a compatible version first and then upgrade the firmware upgrade.  If no feasible device agent and/or upgrade flow can be found,  the best is not to deploy the upgrade in any mass scale to other devices of the same model/firmware version.

Hi Henry, I use both the Samsung XCover4's and Active2 Tablets with the initial OS on the devices and after OS upgrades with Android+ and Android Enterprise configurations.  So far no issues at all with the Mobicontrol agents available in the last year.

As RC asked, any more details?
