Hello Guys,

i have created a datacollection rule that collects the hostname of specific devices, the rule works fine ( i can view collected data under device tab) but when i select the rule name to show in the device dashboard i only get "unknown".

Version is 14.44

Any advice what i need to check or should try out?

Thanks in advance.

Hello John,

You can create custom attribute and add that in Data Collection rule

Also, in the chart it is difficult to show data of Data Collection rule because you may generate report after every 30 mins and on dashboard only current data is displayed.

Hello John,

Thank you for requesting a response from SOTI Support Staff.

SOTI currently does not have a feature to add data collection rule name directly to the dashboard chart but can add custom data attribute instead.

Please create custom data field on the group level if you are looking for specific information of the device and you can add this custom data attribute on the dashboard

Also, please provide screenshot of the "unknown" error on the dashboard and if your instance is hosted on our cloud please provide us the company name.

Can i read in the values of the datacollection into the custom attribute?

Nonetheless the thing is i didnt create any custom attribute sofar:

But in the "Dashboard-Editor" i can select my values from the DataCollection:

I think the dashboard handles datacollection as custom attribute then?

Error is the following (unknown):

Hi,

i dont need no chart i just want the latest captured data shown in the device overview.

I now have assigned the datacollection attributes as custom attributes to the device groups, but still it is not shown in the dashboard.

Datacollection attributes are treated wrongly as custom attributes i think.

I havent created a single custom attribute but i still can select 2:

From my datacollection rules.
