Application showing disabled and greyed-out on device

Hi All,

A customer has raised a device to me that is showing the Android System Webview Application as Disabled.

I am unable to Enable this application in the Application menu of the System Application as the button is greyed-out.

The application is not in any blacklists applied to the device and is enrolled via the Android Plus enrollment.

I have attempted the script but to no avail: appcontrol -w com.google.android.webview

Has anyone seen this before?

Hi James,

Android system web view comes enabled by default but if it is not enabled in your device then you can change it in developer options. Let me know if this is possible.

You can also try this -

On  the chrome app in app settings disable it, then go to the Google play app store and update/re-install/enable webview. These apps may not work together however you can rollback/enable chrome if needed.

If neither works we may need to take a closer look at this and I would ask you to open a support case with Soti Support.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem so it's impossible to start a WebView from the lockdown kiosk with Https://URI because the Android System WebView is disabled.

Any Ideas ?
