Hi,

I did a fresh install using MobiControl1502Setup_1049_release on a server with Windows Server 2016.

In configuration I changed the https port from 443 to 444.

The Deploy Management Server is not starting, running System Health I have the attached errors.

Also in the web console I have errors messages.

Do you have any problem if you use port 443 (instead of your current 444) for your device management address and management server address?

Hi Raymond,

the port 443 is used by another application from that server.

Hi Radu,

did you have done the Default Setup on the Server.

Menas run the Setup and install SQL Server 2014 on this Server local and changed then the Ports in the ADM Utility ?

Hi,

I have installed SQL Server 2017 and, yes I did the configuration during installation for port 444.

So you don't really know if there is still problem if you use the default 443 port.

According to what I heard from some insiders over the years,  some parameters in MCadmin that seem to be arbitrarily reconfigurable are actually not so (or at least with some restrictions that only experts know how to compromise).    So unless you have consulted Soti support/professional services team and got the go-ahead reply related to some reconfiguration in MCadmin, you can have lots of trouble or problems going ahead.

If you are hosting web services with Port 443 and/or want to use a custom port for web-console access due to security concern, this is doable and maybe you have configured the wrong items in MCadmin.

With your very limited information given in your posts, I can't rule out if your problem stems from other source(s).  However, if you can shutdown the other app for a short period of time and test your MobiControl implemenation with default 443 port, then it may be a quick way to rule out other possibilities.

Hi,

could you try the Following Steps on your test Server.

Reinstall the same Setup again, i had an other issue and this helps.

If not try to deactivate the Server firewall may here will be something blocked.

In the Meantime i had tried it but the Deployment Server was allways starting.

Install the needed Software Java, ..... and SQL Server 2017 then the MobiControl Version 1502 with the Ports 444.

Only differenca was that it was an Windows Server 2019....

Hi Raymond,

thanks for help, the web console and the certificates are working using 444 port, only the Deployment server is not working.

Hello Radu,

Did you ever solve this issue? I am experiencing the exact same error after migrating the DB from one standalone DB server to another. Any insight in your solution would be valuable

As said in my earlier post, configuring web-console to use port other than 443 is doable.  Over the years, I have reconfigured this for many of my customers.
