Hello, is there a way to ensure devices stay on a supported iOS version? We currently have a 90 day delay, however we find devices stay on very old iOS versions unless we push an update manually.
Hello, is there a way to ensure devices stay on a supported iOS version? We currently have a 90 day delay, however we find devices stay on very old iOS versions unless we push an update manually.
Could you precisely give details of the device models and the so-called "very old" iOS versions you talked about?
What did you mean by "pushing an update manually"? Remotely from web-console or from device's Settings?
Were the problematic device powered-off or off-line for an exceptionally long period of time?
Had there any overly restrictively firewall or application-run-control/kiosk-mode policies applied on your problematic devices that make firmware update impossible?
Hi Raymond, thanks for getting back to me.
We have a lot of iOS devices still on 15.2.1, so a few major iOS versions back.
We are having to manually push from the web console, but this is not always consistent, presumably when a device is offline, off wi-fi, not charged, etc.
The devices are in use and online. There are no firewall rules, but we do use Application Run Control to limit to only 1 or 2 apps - SOTI support advised this should not affect iOS update prompts on the device though. Some devices do manage to update so it's not as though the update is impossible, rather just not happening as consistently as we would expect.
