Instalation of Android+ on generic Android 7.1.2 TV

Hello all,

I have the next problem :
I have a generic-no brand Android 7.1.2 TV.
My goal is to install a lockdown mode on it and allow access to only one webpage.
The problem I have is next:
I have no idea what specific OEM agent to download, as the tv has no brand. The only info I could get for it is that it is a "rockchip-rk3288". If i try to download the Android Enterprise application from Google Play, i can enroll the TV with a Android+ code , but not with an Android Enterprise code(INVALID ENROLLEMENT ID ERROR). Why is that a problem? Because if I enroll it with a Android+ Code, after the enrollement it will delete that agent and install a work profile.
So, I will have a device registered as Android+, but which in fact is Android Enterprise. So I can not assign any profiles to it. Any solutions?

Cheers,

There is Android Generic agent. Give a shot with this agent.

We had similar kind of Android Quad Core TV from different manufacture. We got manufacturer to work with SOTI to get the agent.

For a no-brand Android device, you, in general, only have 2 options :

1. If the device manufacturer has design the software and hardware to comply with the minimum requirements of Android Enterprise, then there is chance that your device can be enrolled with Android Enterprise device agent

2. Otherwise, you have to use the generic Android device agent, which has not be updated for nearly 3 years.  This generic Android agent do very basic MDM functionalities incluading kiosk and application-run-control, but advanced features such as feature-control, remote control, silent package push, etc. will not be available.  Of course, anoher problem of this old generic Android device agent is their interoperability with more recent version of MobiControl server.  You migh be forced to use very old 12.4 or early v13.x server.

Hello, I get the error "Connection to Server. Enrollement failed, invalid enrollement ID. Please retry..." when using my Android+ code to enroll with the Android Generic agent. Any idea why?

when you are presented with error message, long press back button. It will prompt for event log and see where it's failing?

it would be good to restart device once and then enroll.

Enrollment ID/URL for Android+ or Android-Enterprise add-devices rule cannot be used to enrol device with generic-Android device agent.

If your MobiControl server is a relative recent version, it is likely that the genetic Android platform tab has eiher been totally removed or hidden.    If it is just hidden, you need to open a support ticket with Soti to unhide the generic Android platform tab.  Then, you have to add a new add-devices rule for your generic Android platform device(s).
