Rule to alert when device storage near full

HI,

I've been trying to email alert when any device has less than 500mb left on the device storage. I've had some success, however it only appears to alert for some devices e.g. maybe 2 or 3 out of about 11 or so that I know to have less than 500mb.

I've set the rule to alert with following criteria

  • Event Name = Available Internal storage and Available External storage -
  • Operation =  Lesser <
  • Value = 500000000

I'm assuming the value equates to bytes but, is that where I'm going wrong?

Any thoughts would be appreciated?

I assumed that you used the same alert rule for all your 11 or so devices.  As you got alert emails for 2-3 devices,  I could also assume your email profile has been properly set up.

Are these 11 devices of the same brand and model, and using the same device agent version/build?

Have you checked in the web-console the log and rule tabs associated the 8-9 devices without alert email?   Has the alert rule been successfully deployed on these devices?  Did these devices get connected to your MobiControl server regularly according to the predefined update schedule?

Thanks for the help,

Having re checked it all, the ones that didn't trigger haven't checked in for sometime, so it looks like the rule runs on devices as it checks-in and connects to the server.
