Problems with Feature Control with Devices with Hotswappable Battery / SuperCapacitor

I have currently the strange Problem that when i enable feature control on our TC8300, and someone pulls out the battery or it gets empty the device gets somehow stuck and wont boot again for another 10-15 minutes until all energy from the circuits depleted.

I think its a power management issue correlated to the hibernation possibilitys (supercapacitor) to change the battery without shutting the device down.

If i remove feature control and reboot the device i can not reproduce the issue at all.

Has anyone run into the same issue or not , and if so what featurecontrol settings have you enabled?

Running on:

Agent:

14.5.3.1017

MC:

15.3.1

We have thousands of TC8300s deployed with Feature Control and have never seen something like this. That is a relatively new Agent version so maybe it was a bug introduced with that? Did this start happening after an Agent upgrade?

The one feature I could think could maybe be involved in this behavior is Doze mode. Do you have Doze Mode disabled in Feature Control? It should be by default when creating a Feature Control Profile.

Hi Matt,

i will test withouth dozemode shortly but we rely on having it deactivated.

We also first encountered the issue when updating the devices to Android 10.

Just to give an update on this matter.

I narrowed it down to airplane mode not being allowed via feature control.

After allowing it the issue is gone.
