Is it possible to modify ports between agent and DS/MS to use normalized internet one ?

Hello,

I see in the documentation that using SOTI the agent needs to use ports 5494/5995 but as the devices we need to manage are installed in multiple customers and with the security restriction or sensibility I can't assume to ask our customers to "open" the internet traffic on those ports.

Is it possible to modify the configuration of SOTI to use normalized internet port between SOTI instance and the agent ?

- if yes how to please

- if actually not, when is will be possible ?

As far as I know,  a change of your mentoned ports is not possible.

Does it matter for Security concerns if the devices are reachable over Port 80 / 8080 or 5494/5995?

Personally i dont think so.

Maybe tunnel your network where soti is hosted to your customers?

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for posting in SOTI Central.

The 5494/5495 port is hardcoded into the agent, you won't be able to change that. However, you can change the MS Port if necessary. Perhaps an alternative approach is to only authorize specific IP Ranges in the firewall or utilize a proxy solution. To summarise your question, it's not possible to use a standard port such as port 443 for the DS itself (Agent side connection that uses 5494), however the DSE/DMA will use 443.
