Failed to use load registry files via regload script and Auto Execute from package studio.

It's a Windows Mobile 6.5 OS running on a MC9190 device.

I'm trying to create a package which can push several registry files to a folder and automatically load them in to the registry.

I tried both "regload" script and "Auto Execute" in MobiControl - Package Studio and none of them work.

Here is my example script.

regload \application\Install Files\03_IEsettings.reg

Does anyone have the same experience?

Maybe try calling the regmerge executable and passing the path to the file?

Hi Matt

Thanks for your reply, if you don't mind, can you please let me know what is a regmerge executable?

Hi Wayne,

Here is the script command from the helpfile.   Have you tried using it with the full file path?

regload

Imports a registration file to the registry on the mobile device.

Syntax:
regload <registry file path>

To import registration file c:\test.reg to the mobile device's registry:

regload c:\test.reg

Hi

Yes, i did.

I tried the followings and none of them work.

regload \application\Install Files\03_IEsettings.reg

regload "\application\Install Files\03_IEsettings.reg"

regload 1:\application\Install Files\03_IEsettings.reg

regload "1:\application\Install Files\03_IEsettings.reg"

I also tried to run it under the cmd shell of legacy remote control, and it got back to me the following message.

Error during registry import.

I'm curious that does anyone have successful experience on this script?

Hi Wayne,

Please confirm that the header in your registry file has the correct syntax.  To find the appropriate header you can export the existing key using the registry browser in MobiControl's Remote control feature and make the changes there and resave the file.

Feel free to post a screenshot of the exported value and the 03_IEsettings.reg file you have created so we can confirm the syntax is correct.

Lastly, you can also provide us a screenshot of the expanded reg key with the path to the location which should have the correct path to regload to.

If you prefer to open a case we can have a specialist address this for you confidentially by selecting here and creating a case.

Hope this helps,
