How do i enable the camera app and gallery while the device is in lockdown kiosk mode on a TC77? The end users/drivers need to take pictures of delivered packages, and need access to the camera and gallery.

Have you added those applications to the lockdown configuration?

Hi Jamie

It sounds like you have the same issue we've had with lockdown recently on our Samsung devices where the camera app is showing as package not found.

Create a file sync rule that runs the following script (assuming the camera app name is the same)

enable_system_app com.sec.android.app.camera
enable_system_app com.sec.android.gallery3d

to allow the camera a gallery.

Thanks

Eddie

Hello all,

i'm not an expert but add the app (camera, ..) in a white list of application run control into your profile.

Last I checked (14.3) Whitelists weren't available for Application Run Control under Android Enterprise, only Blacklists.

Hi,

you want to edit the lock down, and add the camera and gallery as new items here.

Hopefully you have a template with enough app shortcuts available to show these items.

I have TC75 running Android 4.4, possibly the same setting:

camera: Launch://org.codeaurora.snapcam
gallery: Launch://com.android.gallery3d

Hey Matt, sorry it's taken so long to get back to you, but it's been a crazy week. No, I haven't added them to the lockdown configuration yet, but I see Gary's response below that I will have to try out when I have a little time to test it out. Is that what you would have suggested also?

Can anyone confirm what the bundle identifier is\ should be on a TC77? After installing the MobiControl agent the camera icon disappears completely. Looking through the installed applications\ identifiers there is nothing obvious that would be the camera.

Jamie did you add the camera to your lockscreen? If so you probably know the answer already.

org.codeaurora.snapcam isn't installed.

Thanks

Kirsty
