Hi,

i have a profile with a package (update) and send it to the phones. That works great. The app update and doensn't need the QR Code for a new registrate. But if i send the same profile with a package (same version or lower) to the phone, the app ill be uninstalled and new installed. In the case of the lower version, that is right and ok but i don't want it when the version is the same.

Is there a possibilityy to configure that?

Hi Sabrina,

Can you please share more details about how you manage your profile updates that includes package when there is a new version of the package, do you in-place upgrade (by editing the current profiles which is already deployed to the devices and changing its package to new version of the package)?

AFAIK, if you follow this path when you try to deploy a lower version of the application to Android device you should get an error as there is a higher version of the application exist on the device.

Hi, i have a profile with a package and a new version of the apk. I upload this apk in the package and update the profile to the new version. Then i assign this profile to all devices. All devices with a lower version get a message in the app ("there is a new version available, do you want to update?") But on all devices with the same Version the profile will be uninstalled and new installed so the apk is new on the device and no update. I think this is korrekt when the version is lower but not when the version is the same.

Hi Sabrina,

Let's use example's name to be more clear. Let's say you have a profile named call AE_Apps_Chrome.

When you update a version, you add new version as a new package and then you edit AE_Apps_Chrome profile by selecting a new version of the package and only save this current profile to be able to update version of the apps, is it correct?

So at this point, you don't create a new profile for new apk version.

I'll also wait for Rafael's questions for better understanding how do you use the package, as normally it should not ask you whether do you want to install or not. it will directly install by itselft to upgrade, or failed (as there is already same or higher version on the device).

Its not saying anything in detail like, pre script executed/used then apk distributed (and installation checkmarked or not), maybe also post script to be done...

Hi Sabrina,

I wanted to check if any scripts are added to the package and which option is used when the package is built:

Thanks.
