Any way to automate "Allowed networks for apps" either through SOTI settings or scripts?

TN

We have tried the Managed Google Play Profile settings for Wiffi only or never update settings.  Setting to Wifi only doesn't really do anything.  We are currently setting it to never update, but not sure if that will work either.

Is there a SOTI feature, script or Profile settings for the below?

Hi Trieu Nguyen,

Thank you for your post on SOTI Pulse.

Based on your request, it seems you want to manage application updates. You can control this through SOTI using the "Manage Google Play" option in the profile settings. Here’s how you can set it up:

1. Go to WebConsole

2. Navigate to the Profiles section.

3. Create a new profile

4. Click on Configuration

5. Select the "+" icon

6. Under the Emails & Others section, choose Manage Google Play.

7. In the Application Updates section, configure the options as needed.

This setup should allow you to manage application updates as required and find the image below for your reference:-

If the proposed solution has resolved the problem, please consider marking this post as the solution. Additionally, feel free to reach out if you need further clarification or have any follow-up questions.

@PMMOD, please re-read her post as she is mentioning that this is not doing like what she is expecting.

@PPMOD  I have tried Managed Google Play and don't believe they work correctly.  Data are still being downloaded whether you set Wifi Only or Never Update.  I am looking for a script that would set those three values in Allowed networks for apps.  I have looked on the list of commands available here, Script Commands for Android Enterprise: Managed Devices. However, I do not see anything about those settings, but I wanted to check with the community first.

Hi Trieu Nguyen,

Thank you for your response. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

As suggested earlier, we may need to collect logs for further investigation into your Google update issue. This will help us take any necessary steps to address the problem effectively.

I would like you to create a support case (click here) or call the SOTI Support team (click here)  to gain a better understanding of the issue. We can then determine whether to raise a Feature Request or troubleshoot to fix the issue.

Please let us know so we can proceed further accordingly.

Hi Trieu,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Pulse.

It looks like you're affected by an issue. I suggest raising a ticket with us through Log a Case. This will allow us to investigate it further.

In the interim, I suggest ensuring your Playstore app is up to date. I can see similar instances of this problem internally, and the resolution was to update it.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
