Apple device is enrolled into SOTI but unless the user has the SOTI app open the device is showing as offline. If the device is lost and I wish to track it I am unable to get to the device. If i want to remote on to track a location or do anything where I do not wish to speak with the user, I am unable to do it. Help please :)
Regarding enrolled device online/offline status shown on MobiControl web-console, Apple devices have different behaviour/meaning from devices of other platforms. On Apple devices, the device is shown online only when the device agent (or possibly any apps that have been built after integrated with Soti's iOS SDK to support remote-control/remote-view) is running in the foreground. So, your devices whose icons are grayed out, are not necessarily offline and out-of-control. You can choose the "check-in device" action, and confirm if it is responding by checking the latest "MDM Status Update" time.
Thanks Raymond, how do we track or monitor that device without the app being open. I have managed to check the device in and have been able to be seen however if I need to track the device because it is lost, the location of the device will not show.

Is the device connected to a network? Either to a Wi-Fi or Cellular? In order for us to track the location of a device, the device should be connected to a strong network. Also, I am posting few links to the documents that would help you understand the Data collection and location better.
