Can you lock folders to stop devices from being put in them?

In my folder structure i have some folders that are just meant to segregate folders and are not meant to have devices in them. is there a way to "lock" a folder so users cannot move devices accidentally into them?

You could maybe have Relocation Rule that is pointed at all those segregated folders to automatically pop any device out and back into a different folder if someone manually moves them. Not exactly what you're looking for but it could accomplish a similar goal.

Hello Mark,

This sounds a bit counterproductive to not have groups that populate with devices but based on your description to "segregate folders"  I'll assume you're using them as partitions.

Perhaps you can create virtual groups with absurd criteria that none of your devices will match.  This way the groups will not populate with any devices from your environment and these groups may be able to be used as separators from the groups you actually use.

Other than that, unfortunately, we do not have a built-in locking mechanism for groups.

Feel free to try it and let us know if this works, if you have not already found another suitable solution.   Alternatively, you can file a feature request to have this considered in future releases.
