Hi Rivikant,
Yes, MobiControl (v13.3 and higher) should work with AlwaysOn Availability Groups, where supported by the SQL Server edition.
Both the MobiControlDB, and MobiControlDB_Archive (v13.4 and higher) should be in the same group to achieve the highest availability.
Also in the version you are installing, SOTI Assist should also be available and included in the assignment grouping. The Db's that are created by Assist will need to be included as they are also queried by MobiControl.
Hope this helps,
Hi There,
Thanks for the response. This information is very helpful. Can you please confirm if we can run the show with setting up HA only for MonicontrolDB? Is there any dependency between MobicontrolDB and MobicontrolDB_Archive? when does SOTI pull information from archive DB?
No problem at all. The SQL Always on High Availability group would need to include all the DB's as the MobicontrolDB_Archive will be queried with any reference to data contained in older, truncated logs, which are what get's archived.
I would imagine that if you are not included every DB in MobiControl you may experience errors when trying to access data.
Dear Team,
Another quick one around AlwaysON availability group setup of SQL. We have Cross DC setup and SQL DBAs asked to keep MultiSubnetFailover=True in application DB string to work correctly. Do we have any option on SOTI configs to keep this string?
Hi Ravikanat,
I haven't come across where this can be configured so I have reached out to our get an answer for you and will update you soon with a response. In the meanwhile feel free to create a case with support@soti.net and file a feature request to have this added, to configure the SQL Always on HA.
Cheers
