Will "Android Go" ever be supported by SOTI MobiControl?

I'm looking to know if Android Go Edition is being considered on our roadmap as one Major reseller is looking to consider of these devices for future deployments.

As you know, some emergent markets like the LATAM region is considered a gold mine for these kind of devices.

I believe Android Go should be supported by default, as Android Go is just a stripped down version for very low-cost devices with very limited RAM and hardware.   However,  the total cost of ownership for MDM solution, and the very limited RAM may be the actual hurdles when using this type of devices in most, if not all, enterprise solutions.

Hi SE ES,

Have you tried to enroll a device with this OS version already into MobiControl?

Not at all. The partner who asked about this is just at planning stage to learn if once he brings these kind of devices, we would be able to support them.

That's ok.  I have discussed it with our Product Management team who have advised that they are aware of the OS version but would like to know more about this deployment.

Please file a case so they can review this properly VIA a "Feature Request" to ensure that we have assessed these devices correctly and can plan accordingly for it.   You can do so by emailing support@soti.net or clicking here.

I agree with @Raymon, Chan though that it should work by default, if not with Android enrollment at least with Android Enterprise.

As it stands we do not have one of these devices or I would test and confirm it for you.  I'm sure once the feature request is filed we will have one available to us for testing and can advise you accordingly.

Hope this helps!
