Hi all Just wondering whether anyone has found the reported activity for Samsung devices running Android 14 for the Task Bar option? When enrolled via Android Classic, the Task Bar button becomes greyed out and can't be interacted with by the user unless it's in admin mode. I have tried using identify_activity to try and locate what the command is to try and write a script that might work for our admins to send over to the devices in a group as aposed to having to revoke the lockdowns applied but all this is returning is the activity for the settings page being opened and settings sub menu. It will not idenfity me turning the option on or off for the Task Bar. I am not sure if there is any other way. Does anyone have any idea? Agent versions are anything 2025 and above. Thanks
When MobiControl connects to the CLA, it invokes the GetCertificate method to communicate with the Agent. At present, this method generates a COM-based Certificate Request and submits it to the Certificate Authority for certificate issuance. Because Certificate Request objects are created on the CLA side, the CLA encounters performance bottlenecks. To address this, the flow will be updated so that the Certificate Request is created only on the MobiControl side and then passed to the CLA as a parameter in the GetCertificate method. The CLA will simply reuse this object, reducing its processing load. Customer Impact: For customers who have applied security policies on the Certificate Authority side that validate the request based on the process name, an update will be required. With this change, the process name may appear as one of the following: Soti.Cloudlink.GrpcServer.exe MCDeplSvr.exe
Hi all.Need some advice and perhaps looking at this completely incorrectly. Our on-prem instance of Mobicontrol is running version 2024.1.0.1052.Samsung Tablets ranging from Android 9, through to Android 14.Android agents 2024.0.1 through to 2025.1.3, enrolled as Android Classic. It's to my understanding that the legacy Content Library policies were depracated and that the UI on newer versions of the server software could no longer access that element of the system, in favour of Soti Hub.I am trying to experiment whether a transition to Soti Hub would impact our field workers, because they are contractors they do not have access to any cloud based corporate accounts as its not a requirement nor allowed, yet when I install Soti Hub and try to run it on a test device, only an error message is displayed with a Login button to say to contact an Administrator. I am entirely unsure why I assume its because we are still using the original Content Library policy and that there is a missing configuration somewhere (such as where the documents are located, I did add a configuration to the profile along with the package but kept its default settings). My questions are as follows: Can we upload documentation via Hub but have the users continue to access the newly uploaded documents via the Content Library section of the agent on the device? If not, is there any way we can set up hub to not require the user login with credentials? Can the documents be uploaded to the server they're sat on, in the same way as the deprecated Content Library policy? Without the need for the documents to sit on the cloud. If they can be, how would one go about this? As currently on a test device, I just get an error message and the Hub is inaccessible and I have no way to test beyond this to see how any of this can be achieved without disrupting our field workers. There is really no clear indication about this deprecation of the Content Library policy, and what we would like to avoid when updating is creating further problems for ourselves. We have hundreds of documents being accessed daily and due to the nature of this and the number of users, we'd like to keep the system this way. Any assistance regarding this is appreciated as it feels unless I have missed it somewhere that any instructions to transition isn't well documented. Thanks
Good Morning, I have new devices being deployed and one of our sales sites uses a reCAPTCHA. We have tried Edge/Chrome. Both in mobile and in Desktop mode. The site works on a PC just fine. I have checked everything in the browser config in the groups and I find nothing that would block this. The photos come up ( those really annoying ones of find all the crosswalks ) OS is updated - Chrome is updated. Manufacturer samsung -- Model SM-X528U -- Agent Version 2025.2.0.1005 MC Version: 15.5.0.1021 I have cleared the data on the browsers and such. Wiped device, reenrolled, moved to a different group. Thoughts? Thanks Jason
Hello everyone, there is a way to create a phone book in Mobicontrol that is then installed on multiple phones. I don't want to do this with a vfc file, because I have to exchange it again and again with every new contact. It is best if I have an app with which the contacts are then also displayed in the contacts app of the mobile phone. I would then also like to maintain the contacts in this app and use it to synchronise all devices. We are still on Mobicontrol 2024.0 and I would like to set it up for Samsung devices that are Worked Managed. Many thanks in advance Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
I get really annoyed when I look at the donut charts (stacked or normal or 3D) in the SOTI MobiControl interface as they look promising but when you look at the data they are misleading. The most basic example is this donut chart that shows the online/offline devices:You can see at a glance that ca. 60% of the devices are Online and 40% are Offline, but in reality that is not the case.In this example, out of 1975 devices, only 119 are offline which is ca. 6% and not 40%When you hover over the offline portion, the data is clearly there: It think that it is really a shame that such a cool diagram gets fed with false information for some reason. Does anybody know if it will be fixed in the near future?
Hi everyone, we are planning to migrate our Soti installation to the cloud, 20.000 + devices. Currently we have one MS server and 8 DP servers (4 DMZ / 4 internal). Has anyone done this before, what are your experiences with MobiControl in the cloud. Are there any restrictions? Thank you for your feedback Mark
Hi, Is there any way via example custom attributes or custom data, to set 3 different values to an application? For example, the application (we install via MC) we have has 3 values that needs to be filled in at first start. One of the values is unique per device. Is there any way to automate this via SOTI MobiControl instead of manually having to enter this? The device is a Sunmi P2 Lite SE, Android Classic Thanks
Is anybody out there who has already done a successful integration of MobiControl into ServiceNow to retrieve device information via the REST-API?
Hello, I want to change my preference settings for remote control from plugin to web-based. When I change this setting and click save the settings don't change. Same goes for language too. Whenever I go back to the preferences the old settings are still in place.
Hi, We have several device groups based on what office the device is in. If the device change location/office, we would like to use device relocation so it automatically change device group in mobicontrol. Has anyone done this before, and can help us tell us the steps to do so?
I have a Unitech EA660 test device that as soon as I enroll it in Mobicontrol the scanner stops working. All the system apps disappear so I cannot even go in and start the USS scan engine to get the scanner to work. I am told that the latest plug-in should resolve this issue but it is not. I am working with Unitech and have a ticket in with Soti, just looking to see if anyone else out there has had this issue and gotten a solution while I wait. I have tried using Mobicontrol stage programmer per this article, adjusting the agent version and changing the system app line to true but it has not resolved the issue either. Device is running Android 13. Installing Android Enterprise with agent version 2025.1.0.1126 and plug in vesion 1.19.2.118.
Hi, How can I configure the MobiControl agent in both Android and Windows to connect to SOTI Cloud through a proxy? Thank you.

If I install an Android application (Owncloud) via SOTI Mobicontrol from the managed Play Store and later try to run it, the app will not be usable—I only receive the following message: 'Blocked by your IT admin.' No additional restrictions have been set (e.g., application run control or feature control...). If I run the same Android app on a managed device without SOTI Mobicontrol, it works fine. Parameters: Device type: Android Enterprise Device family: Android Plus OS version: Android 12 Android status: Provisioned / Enabled with managed Google Play accounts Management type: Work-managed device What can cause the application to run?
