Script command or activity idenfity for Task Bar

Hi all

Just wondering whether anyone has found the reported activity for Samsung devices running Android 14 for the Task Bar option?

When enrolled via Android Classic, the Task Bar button becomes greyed out and can't be interacted with by the user unless it's in admin mode.

I have tried using identify_activity to try and locate what the command is to try and write a script that might work for our admins to send over to the devices in a group as aposed to having to revoke the lockdowns applied but all this is returning is the activity for the settings page being opened and settings sub menu. It will not idenfity me turning the option on or off for the Task Bar. I am not sure if there is any other way.

Does anyone have any idea?

Agent versions are anything 2025 and above.

Thanks

In general i recommend to use Enterprise enrollment and not classic as classic will disappear with Mobicontrol 2025.x.x and Android Enterprise is the one being developed further.

But in genereal to your question, I'm not entirely sure what you are looking for but maybe it's this one (legacy script) disabling the menu shown on the right side even in lockdown if not disabled (tested only on enterprise enrolled devices!):

Hi Rafael

Thanks for the suggestion but this only disables the edge panel.

The option needed is for:

One of our teams has enrolled their devices without turning this function off. As a result some recent changes has made it so that with this enabled the task bar (which is the bar at the bottom of the screen in the above image) is blocking aspects of their view in certain scenarios. They have asked if I can program a script because when feature controls are turned on as part of the lockdown the button is greyed out and cannot be interacted with unless the lockdown profile is revoked.

With respect of Android Classic depracation, have Soti announced when it is being fully depracated? I am the only person on my very small team (2 of us) capable of programming anything within Mobicontrol, and as yet have not found the time to learn about anything Enterprise related and am concerned that this is going to impact operations.

Thanks for your help!

Yeah just wasn't sure as some also call the edge panel as a taskbar.

But this setting i have no idea yet to turn it off, even oem config (KSP) from Samsung doesn't have it yet included (maybe worth requesting it at Samsung but will take time which i guess you may not have time/want to wait).

Dear @Warren T

Thanks for posting on SOTI Pulse, Thanks Rafael for responding to the post, your expertise and willingness to help are greatly appreciated!

MobiControl does not use a direct script to disable the taskbar, you can achieve this on Samsung Knox devices through a Lockdown Profile. The lockdown configuration is the standard method for controlling device features and disabling system functions like the taskbar and status bar for kiosk-style applications.

On Android Classic devices enrolled through SOTI Mobi Control, it is possible to show notifications or status bar items for apps that are authorized for use in Lockdown Mode.

However, completely disabling the notification/status bar system-wide on Android Classic is not supported.

This feature is available for Android Enterprise enrolled devices using Lockdown Mode.
