Soti Signal Strength

Hi- Does anyone have experience with the "signal strength" metric ? This seems to be as another member pointed out to me, a unit of measure specific to Soti, not RSSI (dbm), etc. and is measured in 1-100.  I am trying to determine what range of signal strength is acceptable and and what range will result in a weak connection or no connection.  Thank you!

You already have a thread on this topic open here:

With that said, unless you have the device's checking in incredibly frequently I don't know how helpful the value collected in SOTI is going to be for any sort of troubleshooting efforts. You could maybe use it as a reference value to collect something like average signal strength but it is a relatively poor indicator of real time signal strength if that is what you're looking for. The devices are not reporting their signal strength to SOTI in real time as that would take an excessive amount of overhead that would likely impact performance.

Hello Ryan,

Thank you for requesting an answer from SOTI Support Staff.

The Measure you are requesting clarification on seems to be the standard measure for signal strength of RSSI.

Here is a link to online article regarding this.

If you are still concerned that the measure is a proprietary one that is only applicable to SOTI, please let me know more about your devices, including the OS type and I can discuss this directly with the platform developers for 100% confirmation.

Cheers,
