I was wondering if there was a way to create a script that restarted a specific app. We wanted to test if restarting Staylinked would reset the connection when it freezes. Is there a command that can do this?

Try the following:
kill_application bundle_ID
start bundle_ID
Your device should likely need to have relevant AE plug-in installed to run the first command.
The kill_application script should work to kill the StayLinked application however that won't necessarily kill the session that StayLinked is maintaining. StayLinked is designed specifically for session persistence. There is a middleware StayLinked server maintaining the sessions to host application server so killing the StayLinked app and relaunching it will not kill this session, and that is by design. StayLinked is in place in order to maintain sessions to host servers in the event of a device disruption including a reboot, a battery dying, loss of network connection, or crash of the app.
I am very confident this will not be the fix for our situation, too. We recently moved our ERP and StayLinked software to the cloud, and I am told StayLinked Administrator is unable to navigate through the new infrastructure to terminate sessions. I have not tested this myself yet. But I was tasked to see if there's any way to do it using SOTI. Best I could come up with was restart the app, even though we know rebooting the scanners doesn't work.
Thanks for the info, though. If you can think of any other way we can force the session closed using SOTI that would be great, otherwise we may have to work with StayLinked on a solution.
Thank you, since this is Android (Zebra MC9300), doing this kills the application:
It automatically restarts, I'm assuming because of the policy we have in SOTI.
I will test this the next time I get a "scanner is stuck/frozen" ticket.
