Hi, I have about 400 devices that work as a price checkers in stores.

SOTI Surf is being used with kiosk mode enabled.

Now my client asks me to install a screensaver on these devices, while they are not being used.

They want to show a list of videos(.mp4 or .mov) and images(.jgg, .png, or.jpeg) in loop.

Any idea how can I do this?

SOTI has any feature to configure screen saver?

Hi, in MobiControl 2024.0 and later there is an option to create an Profile with an configuration "Device Inactivity" where you can run an screensaver to play media files like .mp4 or .png.

Hi Miguel Machado,

Thank you for your post on SOTI Pulse and for marking the above suggestion as the solution.

Please find the steps below to create a "Device Inactivity" profile:

- Navigate to **Profiles** -> **Android** -> **Work Managed**

- Select **Device Inactivity** (under the **Emails & Others** section)

- Add the **Inactivity Timer**

- Add the required media files to play on the device

 

I hope these steps are helpful in creating the "Device Inactivity" profile.

It may be possible is the screensaver is a single static photo/wallpaper.

In your case required playing of multiple videos or image files in a loop, I believe you have a higher chance to achieve what you want if you configure the device to have extremely long timeout (hence no real locked screen), and customize the html/CSS/javascript of your MobiControl locdown menu or Soti Surf to display the sequence when there is no user interaction for a predefined period of time.
