How to create groups

Hi. We're trying to create new groups in SOTI Mobicontrol but, after some changes in Mobicontrol, we can't understand how it works anymore. We asked SOTI Support to help us with this task but they asked us to write here. We also read some help from the following links (https://www.soti.net/mc/help/v15.5/en/console/users/add_usergroup.html, https://soti.net/sotiidentity/help/en/users/assign_users_to_group.html, https://soti.net/sotiidentity/help/en/users/groups/add_group.html) but they are not enough for us to understand all the process. Please help us.

What do you mean?

You need to add the groups in the AD and after they got synchronized (not sure how often this happens; we decided to wait ~1 day after creation) you can add them in the menu from your screenshot above and assign role(s).

If those groups already exist in your AD, enter the name of it into the search field "search groups".


But we are on 15.6.3 and they changed it a bit with 15.6 (but i think this was only related to the roles, not the groups themselves).

What is AD?
We need to create groups from the screen in the picture below, but we don't understand what info we are asked for (Secreto de cliente?). We created "EMPARK" group in SOTI Identity some days ago, so it should be synchronized already, but it doesn't.

AD is Access directory like Azure AD from Microsoft where you have added the users and groups yopu want to connect to your Mobicontrol system etc.

Did you try what i said, to enter a known group name into the "buscar grupos" field?

I think you need to do that before any thing is shown in the drop down.

Yes, we tried to searck "EMPARK" group in the list but no results were displayed either. You can see the exact steps we're following in the video below:

Your error message from the screenshot says that the credentials not correct. Redo this step.

You get those data from Soti Identity. Check the relevant application and choose "view credentials" and keep that open.

Now goto Mobicontrol and refresh the entrys with that data. The error should disappear and the sync should work.
