Hello,
I searched for an instruction on how to set an alert/action when a device exits a geofence but couldn't find any.
How can I set a rule, that pops up a message to bring the device back when exiting a geofence and removes the message once the device is back?
Device: MobilBase DS5AX
Device Kind: Android Enterprise
Device Agent: 15.4.6.1013

You may create a new folder let's say "destination_folder" on device folders side. And you can relocate (move) the devices that leaves from the area (that you can define by yourself on the map) to "destination_folder" folder. And whenever any device is relocated this folder by itself automatically, you can show message on the screen by using a profile; one of the option would be using task scheduler profile, that runs every X minutes to shows message or any other way.

Hi Christoph,
Please note that geofence alert trigger (and hence any message shown on the device screen due to script deployed) might be delayed while the device location data cannot be transferred back to your MobiControl server due to unavailable connection or poor signal-condition.

Thanks for the help. But even though I followed the instructions, it doesn't seem to work.
I created an exit rule to relocate the device.
I assigned the rule to a test device.
Then I exited the geofence, but the device did not react at all.
When the device relocates to the other group, it gets a lockscreen. I tested this by manually moving the device. But the alert rule doesn't move it.
Any idea, if I did something wrong or what could be the problem here?

Hi Christoph,
If possible, can you try to come back to the selected area by having a test device with you first and then leave from the area to create a trigger? I'm wondering whether it'd be same for you or not. Thank you

that's what I did. I started INSIDE the geofence/marked area, checked it was registered inside and left it. Then I went back and checked on MobiControl again if it was checked outside.

I would suggest to create a support case so that we can we have a deeper look into the rule that you have created and troubleshoot your issue accordingly.
Also some of the things we can try is making sure the below things are working independently:
1.Geofence is working.
2. Message is working.
3.Task scheduler is working.
