Setting up Server preference in Apple Configurator

I'm running into some troubles when attempting to add a device to Device Enrollment Program using Apple Configurator.

For my Server preference, I have used an Enrollment URL that matches the Enrollment URL from an iOS Add Devices rule in our MobiControl instance.  Note that this URL is for one of our deployment servers, which faces the public internet.  This url looks like https://public-host-name/Enroll/241.  Note that our management server is not publicly accessible.

When I prepare the device using Apple Configurator, I select the "Add to Device Enrollment Program" and "Allow devices to pair with other computers" options.  I then choose this Server, choose a previously set up Organization, use the default options for iOS Setup Assistant, and select a verified WiFi configuration.

The preparation step is failing with the following error:

Provisional Enrollment failed.

The cloud configuration server could not be verified. [MCCloudConfigErrorDomain - 0x80EF (33007)]

I haven't been about the discover a solution from others who have experienced this error message.  These are new iOS devices so they are not members of another DEP account.

Any ideas?  Is the URL for the Server configured correctly?

Thanks in advance...

You don't need to include the "Enrol/241" part when defining a new server in "Preferences" menu of Apple Configurator.  Just include the FQDN of the device management address of your MobiControl server.

After successfully adding your device to your DEP account, you have to assign the added device from the "Configurator" group to your MobiControl server group in the Apple Business Manager.   The Actual Add-Devices rule to be used for enrollment upon device factory reset is defined in the "Manage DEP Assignments" tab that you can access when clicking on any iOS Add-Devices rule in your MobiControl web-console.

One other interesting piece of information - when I entered the enrollment URL for the server, it has been changed when I later when back to check it.

The entered URL looked like:

https://public-host-name/Enroll/241

The modified URL looked like:

https://public-host-name/mc/appleconfigurator/none/enroll/241

And another bit of information - I can enroll the device manually using this URL.

https://public-host-name/Enroll/241

Thanks!  Does the URL need to be the management server or can it be a deployment server?  In our on-premises deployment, the two deployment servers are public-facing but the management server is internal only.

Quick update - this worked when using the FQDN for a deployment server.

Thanks for your help.  I was hoping it was something simple like that.
