Hi Community!

Anyone can help me set up a file sync rule on the Xiaomi Redmi 9AT?

I use several rules like this:

But it won't work on this phone.

I've tried every options in the setup screen (%sdcard%...etc) but neither of them works.

If i open file manager on the phone and check the files path, I see /storage/emulated/0/DCIM/Camera but that path won't work either:

Any help is appreciated.

Hello Vilmos

Greetigns for the day !!

Hope you are doing great.

Thanks for posting to soti central!!

From the screen shot it seems that you are trying to upload files from devices to server so in that case you need to use the exact file path so make sure the file path is correct

Secondly kindly share the error message screenshot if anything , you are seeing in device log section after syncing the file.(you can check that by manually syncing the file under device actions and check logs after that.

kindly let us know if you have any other concern!!

Regards

Hi Vilmos,

Try adding a trailing backslash in the server folder (i.e. use  d:\Telefonok\ in your case).

Also, your chosen option for "Only Transmit Files When", being  "Files are Different", can be your second problem.  No file will be transmitted because there is no "photo" file of the same name in your server directory for MobiControl to compare if there is any difference.

Finally, using %sdcard% to reference device directory in internal flash is OK, and in my view is relatively more portable than using the absolute path found on individual device brand/model, especially when the same file-sync rule is targeted to devices of different brands/models.

Hi!

The file path is not correct, but can't figure out why. I have several other type of phones syncing exacly with this rule, they are uploading photos without problems.

Secondly kindly share the error message screenshot if anything , you are seeing in device log section after syncing the file.(you can check that by manually syncing the file under device actions and check logs after that.

There is no error message.

File(s) synchronized (Total 0 files uploaded) but no files are uploaded, no matter if I make another picture.

I tried to use every reference, I only 0 files uploaded or error messages like this:

File synchronization failed (Failed to upload "%removablesdcard%/DCIM/Camera" since the source file is not found)

Hi!

Try adding a trailing backslash in the server folder (i.e. use  d:\Telefonok\ in your case).

There are several file sync rules without backslash, and the rule itself creates the folder (Device ID) in D:\Telefonok, but no files are uploaded

Also, your chosen option for "Only Transmit Files When", being  "Files are Different", can be your second problem.  No file will be transmitted because there is no "photo" file of the same name in your server directory for MobiControl to compare if there is any difference.

I can make any new pictures, still no upload happens.

Finally, using %sdcard% to reference device directory in internal flash is OK, and in my view is relatively more portable than using the absolute path found on individual device brand/model, especially when the same file-sync rule is targeted to devices of different brands/models.

Absolute path was the last resort I tried. I tried every reference (%sdcard%, %internalsdcard%, %removablesdcard%,  %shareddata%)

I've been using the same set of syntax to successfully configure file-sync rules in many tens of MobiControl server instances for nearly 10 years.   So, what I said in the last post should be reasonably accurate.  Your problem may be due to issues other than syntax.

I noticed some recent reports about some new MobiControl releases that have problem with their file-sync operations.   What iare the version and build numbers of your MobiControl server?

Version: 15.1.2.1035

I have working sync rules on the server, only these xiaomi devices won't sync the files.

If the same file-sync rule on your server works for some devices but not for others, then the problem most likely is related to the way you specify device directory.  While %sdcard% macro refers to base public directory in internal flash memory of most device brands/models, there are exceptions.   You can test out if this macro reference the right directory on your XiaoMi devices by sending script to copy files from one device directory to another using this macro.  If it is confirmed to be not working, you have to add a new file-sync rule for XiaoMi devices, and replace the device directory parameter in the rule with absolute path specific to your XiaoMi devices.
