Laun an application after unlocking the device

Hello everyone,

I’m currently managing devices in Kiosk Mode, and I have a specific requirement:

  • I already have an app that launches automatically on startup.
  • I would like this app to also launch automatically whenever the user unlocks the device.
  • I am not using single app mode because we have multiple applications.

If anyone knows how to configure this within SOTI MobiControl or where I can set up such event-based behavior, I’d really appreciate your guidance.

My best guess is that there's no way to acchieve that unless you can somehow notice via JavaScript (added to the lockdown template) that the device is locked or was recently unlocked.

But as far as I know there's nothing like that. Maybe someone else has another idea to do this.

Yes, as Rafael mentioned there is currently no default option that you can use to enable this under Kiosk Mode. You might have to play around with JavaScript to trigger the application launch whenever the device is locked and unlocked. Thank you!!

As Rafael mentioned, there is currently no default option available to enable this in Kiosk Mode. You have also stated that you are using a single app, which launches automatically after the devices reboot or when any changes are made to the lockdown profile.

Please follow the process outlined below for further information on submitting this request.

I would like you to create a support case(click here) or call SOTI Support team(click here) to raise a Feature Request to add this feature. These feature requests should be insisted on by customers via a Support case.

To provide you with a heads up, this would not be an instant resolution as SOTI Product Team should communicate with Product Team to leverage this feature to be managed by MobiControl. So, this may take weeks to months to get it included in the new build. Please follow the release notes of SOTI MobiControl to get an update on the improvements done on the new release.
