Currently, a customer of ours is looking for tools for web filtering that record user activity, such as the operation log of what website the user opens, what application, and so on.

They want SOTI dashboard which can contains information on a list of categories such as :

1. users with the most certain web accesses
2. users with the most access to certain applications
3. export files (excel/csv) contain list number 1 and 2 for reporting purpose

Is it possible to do it from SOTI ? Or anyone has succesfully integrated SOTI with some 3rd app application that can fulfill the requirement?

Thanks

Hi Carmadi,

you should talk to Soti directly, the only possibility i know of is to look up app usage but not website's visited. And this would require a XSight license to be bought and set this up as you need.

What your customers are looking for are quite sensitive information in terms of privacy of the device end-users.  Recently, most mobile device platform owners (i.e. Google, Apple and Microsoft) impose more restrictions so that MDM/EMM or other third-party software cannot easily gather too much personal information that infringe end-user's privacy

While Soti XSight can definitely be used to report LIST of top applications used for a single device [and possibly for selected group(s) of enrolled devices under management), I don't think it currently can report a list of end users/devices that have top access to ONE particular apps over a selected period of time.

The freely downloadable Soti Surf secure browser apps can be configured to keep log file of detailed browsing activities, but only supports Android/Apple devices rather than Windows devices unless run within an emulator, and does not provide analytics/statistics on most visited web-site/URL for a single device or across multiple devices.    You might need to look for other Windows secure browser with log-file support, and might need extra software to analyse the gathered log files to provide the required visibility with graphs or reports.
