Which permission on deploymentserver folder required for FileSync?

Hello everyone,
we use various file sync rules in our company.
To do this, we use server-side shares that are then shared with certain people in order to update files to be synchronized here, etc.
If I authorize “Everyone” to the share, then my rule works. If I authorize the service account of our MobiControl server instead, it no longer works.
The internal default is not to authorize a share for “Everyone”. It would therefore be great to know what the authorization of the share must look like so that our devices can upload and download files there.

Have you seen this iun the documentation?

When setting up the file sync rule, the deployment server must have permission to read and write to the specified server locationSOTI recommends that you use a UNC path and that the deployment server is run under its own Active Directory user profile. You can use a local path if only one deployment server is being used and the local path points to a location on the computer running the deployment server.

So, granting the server and the AD user profile the mentioned permissions to the folder should cover your needs.

Hi Marcel,

If you are using the service login instead of a local user on Windows MobiControl services (such as Deployment Service), you can try to login by using this service account login to the server and check whether you can access the file from Windows server itself. If you have multiple DSs, it's better to use same Service account on all Windows Services AFAIK.

Thank you
