hello,

i have there an Zebra TC21 running OEMversion: 14-26-08.00-UG-U00-STD-HEL-04.

On the device was set an PinLock using Soti Script : "

resetpassword 1234 -bypass_secure_startup".  Now the owner live and i need to remove the Passkey. The problem is that the device is connectet to the correct network but didnt show up online in the Mobicontrol console (2024.1.2).
Enrolled as Enterprise device.

Any idea ?

Kind regards

How do you know that the device is connected to the correct network?   What if all network connections had been disabled by device end-user before the device got powered off/soft-reset?  In such case, no connection will be available unless the device can be successfully rebooted & logged-on (say, with a correct locksceen password), and device connections re-enabled explicitly via Settings options  by the device end-user.

Regarding whether the script command can reset your Zebra TC21 password, you can do tests for different scenarios (say send script when device is powered on/off, sent with MC agent/platform notification service, etc.) yourself.   If you have on-hand another Zebra TC21 running the same OEM firmware, you can try to send the same script command and confirm if it works or not on the device.

Hello Raymond,

thank you for your message. I see the current network connection when i swipe down in the taskbar and we see the device in the firewall. It looks like the connection is established but no data go true.

Is there an possibility via USB?

Devices shut down and turned on again but not unlocked, can connect to the network BUT all apps which are not supporting "direct boot support" are not allowed to communicate until device is unlocked once, that's why you see this behavior.

If you don't know the pin anymore or set it to an unknown value, the only thing possible is a wipe of the device via SD-card (you find relevant files on the Zebra pages).

Everything else woud be horrible regarding device security and making the pin/password protection useless...
