Adding Soti Snap agent to lockdown screen but after creating package agent application says it needs to update to new version to work

Hello 

I have been working on getting my Soti Snap application on our MobiControl devices using lockdown screen. 

I followed the instructions online for adding a soti snap app to the lockdown screen using the enrolment ID with the apk and ini file then creating a package for MobiControl using package studio.

Completed the package earlier this year and it was working fine with the lockdown screen, could launch the snap agent and enrol the device to gain access to the application I created.

Came back to the project 6 months later and it now says I need to update the soti snap agent to use the agent. I tried to create a new package using the apk you can download from the snap web console in the enrolment section, but this still had the issue.

For our environment I need to create a package I can push to our MobiControl devices without needing to update each using the google play store. Our device is fully locked down with access to a few apps, so I need to be able to update the snap agent with a package without involving the google play store.

Please see below for the current versions

New Version (google play) (2024.3.0 Build30)

Version from snap web console (used in package) (2024.2.0 Build14)

Can anyone point be in the right direction to get access to the new APK or if there are any other fixes I could try?

Hi Noah,

Due to some technical issues, the latest package was not pushed to the destination as expected. However, we have re-uploaded the package today.

Please download the latest APK from the Snap console and try again. This should resolve the issue you're experiencing with updating the SOTI Snap agent.

Hello Diya 

Thank you for the reply, this has fixed the issue and i am able to create the package and that snap agent is working now at the new version level (2024.3.0 Build30). 

is there any way i can be alerted when a new snap agent is being release so i can avoid this issue with the snap application goes live on my devices? 

this app would be used very day so it would greatly affect the end users if i cannot upload the new APK to mobicontrol.

You can follow SOTI Snap on SOTI Pulse to receive alerts about the latest releases.

In addition, we also send in-app notifications and emails regarding upcoming releases.
