Android Shared Device Mode using SOTI Identity

Currently running a trial of SOTI Identity and SOTI MobiControl, trying to configure Shared Device mode on Android and have the following setup:

Profiles: Android Profile: Lockdown (Restrictions), Authentication (Security)
Device Groups: My Company (Advanced Configuration - Shared Device): All options selected

The issue is we cannot add in groups from SOTI Identity, when adding a group in the Shared Device window, selecting SOTI Identity as the Identity Provider and searching for group names set up in SOTI Identity the text box is unable to return any of those group names. Also any random string of text entered allows that group to be added.

Can anyone shed some light on how this is meant to work?

Is your Mobicontrol server a cloud instance or an on-premises one?

If it's the latter, then what Soti Identity integration steps have you taken so far?

Hi MDM_Man,

Thank you for posting on SOTI Central and thanks Raymond for responding to the post.

The user groups that are visible on Users and Permissions page under MobiControl Groups tabs under “SOTI Identity Groups”, those groups can be searched under Shared Device.

One way to troubleshoot would be to search for the user in SOTI Identity and then look at the assigned apps. That user who is not able to search for user groups under Shared Device, does that user have MobiControl as the associated app?

Could you please confirm if you can view those user groups under “SOTI Identity Groups” on the Users and Permissions page?

It would be helpful if you can tell us which version of the product you are using.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
