Does it have to be a script? NFC can be administered through a Feature Control Profile. 

This is along the lines of a rant long ago about feature control and how some features are documented and controlled.  Feature control won't necessarily enable the radio if it's not on (or turn it off if it's not off).  At least not on my Zebra devices.  I use mxconfig to toggle the radio status, at least for now.  Not sure what device Phil is using so I can't say what his options are and I haven't gotten into AE enough yet to know if there is a "standard" function to enable/disable NFC.

Great points Scott. Phil can you let us know what device models you're using? There are manufacturer specific options like MX for Zebra devices that change the possibilities. OEMConfig could also be a nice option for you given 14.4 and AEDO.
