Importing Phone Numbers into SOTI

Hoping someone may have some wisdom here.

Is it possible to bulk import phone numbers into SOTI either to the existing phone number field or custom attribute. SOTI doesn't automatically recognize the phone number from my android devices as its shows an unknown on the device. (I believe this to be due to the way the number isn't stored on the SIM).

I can easily get a list of devices and SIM numbers from SOTI and lookup against a spreadsheet that has the associated phone numbers from my Mobile provider. However is there a way to then import that data back into SOTI to populate the phone number field or a custom phone number field?

I'm assuming I could do it one by one but we tend to set up a lot of devices 200+ in one go so looking to a quicker.

Any help would be appreciated.

In MobiControl v13 and earlier,  bulk import of custom attribute(s) can be performed by right-clicking any device-group in the device tab, selecting Advanced Settings->Custom Attributes in the pop-up menu, then clicking "Bulk Import" button at the bottom.  The import file can be either an Excel or a CSV file (of at most 2000 lines, I think).  Each row in the CSV file should follow the format :  Device-ID,Attribute-Name,Attribute-Value.

Unfortunately, this feature is missing in v14.x, possibly due to restriction related to administrator permission to edit custom attributes.   I've already filed a feature request on this with Soti about four weeks ago, but I am not sure if it will be added back.

I'm on version 14.0, so guessing I'm not going to be able to do it :(

On v14, you can edit custom attribute for each device manually on the web console UI, as there is no bulk import available.  However, this should not be a big problem because your phone number is different for each device anyway.

Some of my customers in Hong Kong also experienced the same problem of not being able to get the phone number from the SIM card.   They eventually requested the telco to exchange for a new set of SIM cards, each with phone number configured to be readable.

Yes I guess I'll have to do them manually, just a pain when we're configuring batches of 200+ devices at a time :(
