Zebra Printer - Sending raw ZPL from SOTI/PAS

It doesn't look like it's possible outside of building a package to deliver a .zpl file containing zpl code to a Zebra printer but I am wondering if it has been mentioned to possibly add the capability of sending raw ZPL, almost like sending a script to Android+, to ZPL enabled printers versus the native config profiles and packages. It appears the native printer config profile options are doing this anyway being that there is no agent installed on printers.

Hi Ben,

Thank you for your question. In MobiControl, we do not have a specific set of script commands for Zebra printers.

In the link below you will find a list of supported commands and their respective platforms for version 13 of MobiControl.

The platforms supported are, Windows Mobile, Windows Desktop, Android and Android +. Unfortunately, for Zebra Printer, we do not have direct way through MobiControl whereby a script command that can be set.

What would be specific use case which you want to achieve by sending the script?

Currently, MobiControl can only support creating and sending a package, and or sending a configuration profile to the Zebra Printer.

It might be possible from the PAS server end to send the specific command you want.

My use case for sending ZPL scripts would be to test ZPL prior to deploying a printer for on the fly testing. You could also send sample zpl labels to a printer through SOTI although most businesses will have a print server for this kind of task.

I do not think that the SOTI Connector PAS server has the exposed capability of sending any commands but I could be wrong.
