When using the signal-based policy, I encountered several issues and hope to get answers:

  1. When selecting Managed Device as the type, choosing an attribute with the trigger condition set to Send Message or Alert, and configuring it to activate immediately, the alert or message is still not received right away even if the condition is triggered. Sometimes it takes several hours or longer to arrive. What is the reason for this? Also, emails are hardly ever received.

  2. When selecting types such as Configuration Profile, Policy, User Role, etc., no response occurs no matter how the settings are configured. How exactly are these options used?

Hi Miya,

What are the version and build numbers of your MobiControl server?  Is it an on-premises or cloud instance?

For 1,  If the device is offline (or update schedule/data collection policy schedule/etc configured to have big time intervals)  and  the triggered condition (e.g. those related to custom data, location, device status such as battery level, etc.), then the data buffered on the device may reach the server many hours later and the appropriate action(s) can then get triggered, causing the perceived delay.

Also, have you checked and confirmed that the SMTP server has been PROPERLY installed.

For 2, what response/action(s) have you actually configured?  They are mostly related to items always accessible on server-side and thus do not have the problem mentioned in (1) above.
