Devicename in URL Soti SURF

Hi, I'm working on some devices in which I want the devicename to be included in the url we want to open.
I know we can use custom attributes which we already use in the same url, but I prefer not to put in the devicename for each device within its custom attribute parameter.

Are there any options ?
1. maybe directly in url ?
2. with custom attribute but then it's filled with the devicename automatically

You can use %MCDEVICENAME% as a Macro in the URL. You don't need to save the device name to a custom attribute in order to reference it.

Hello MobileMan,

Thank you for your post on SOTI Pulse. Matt Dermody thank you for responding to the post your expertise and willingness to help are greatly appreciated!

We have multiple macros available that can be used to retrieve information from the device and display it as the device name. These macros can be found in the Enrollment Rule settings. Please refer to the image below to view all available macros

This doesn't seem to work ?

Am I doing something wrong ? I succeeded in adding CustomAttributes in the URL, but for the devicename I don't want to create an extra custom attribute since devicename is known.

https://xxxxx/xxxxx_nl_be/startup?shopid=%CustomAttr:ShopID%&tabletid=%CustomAttr:DEVNR%&%PERSONALIZED_DEVICE_NAME%

within the templates, you can simply use %DEVICENAME%, but how to use it within an url which will be opened from soti surf ?

Hello MobileMan,

I apologize for the delay in my response.

After reviewing the situation, I can confirm that it is not possible to retrieve the device name using macros over the custom attributes. This limitation arises from certain restrictions on the characters that can be included in the device name. I hope this clarifies the concern.
