SOTI Surf - Link with custom atttribute

Hi, previously I have configured SOTI Surf with one custom attribute in the following format and it's working fine.

If I set the custom attribute in one of my devices to 0301 the link is:

Now I need to do the same, but the custom attribute needs to be in the middle of the URL. In the following format:

I need the link to be:

When I try to add this link I got an error that "The string is not a well-formed URL"

Anyone knows how can I override this error?

It may work better for you if you link to Surf:// with a Lockdown shortcut rather than a link within the Surf home screen. I have had better success with Surf resolving Macro values when launching custom links from the Lockdown shortcuts.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for your answer.
I tried adding a lockdown item, and it worked.
But I have other sites, so I prefer to have all of them inside Soti Surf.
Do you know of another method to fix this configuration error?

In scenarios like this I'll just add multiple Surf:// links to the lockdown.

HI Matt,

I think the other solution is prettier (one lockdown item to Soti Surf with all sites inside), but in this case I will put the way you suggested (each site is a lockdown item with surf://)

I create multiple lockdown items to Soti Surf and got a strange behavior.

If I have three sites and open the first one, everything is okay.

If I click on the back button and open the second site, I can still see site 1 for a moment before opening site 2.

By clicking on back button in site 2, I will be taken to site 1 instead of the lockdown menu.

Do you have any idea if I can modify this behavior?

Thanks.

I try to do the same with just one lockdown item and everything works fine.

It seems that the codes parsing the URL field in the web-console does not allow supported macro in the first part (using holding the website FQDN) of the URL, maybe for security or other reason(s).  Using supported macro(s) for sub-path or extra argument is OK.

The problem can probably be fixed only by filing a feature request to Soti to change the parser codes.

Hi Raymond,

Thanks for your answer.

In the meantime, I will create multiple lockdown items as Matt suggested.

Hi
I can't find a good solution because the error parsing.
In the meantime I will use SOTI Surf just to this site with lockdown item as Matt suggested.
Other two sites i will use Chrome because of back problem in SOTI Surf.
