Zebra phone does not wake when application receives alarms

Hi,

We have an APK installed on several Zebra devices. The purpose of the APK is to receive nurse call alarms to the Zebra device. When the Zebra device is asleep (phone completely black), the alarms do not break through and wake the device. 

Is there a package script that I can use for battery optimization? I know you can  "white list"  an application, ie batteryoptimize disable com.microsoft.office.outlook. Can I do something like that at the package level?

There could be various reasons for this, including battery optimisation causing the app and its services to sleep. 

Would need some more details.

  1. Does the device have a kiosk applied and are you using native or activity supression as the kiosk type?
  2. If you remove the kiosk, do you have the same issue?
  3. If you wake the device, does the notification immediately come through, and if so is that text/notification or/and sound?
  4. What version of android are you using?

The script btw to disable battery optimisation for a specific package is: batteryoptimize disable com.microsoft.office.outlook
It is stated as only working on Samsungs, but Zebra most likely have a similar capability via mxconfig.

Also look into MX config or oemconfig from Zebra to disable doze mode and maybe exclude that app from going to sleep.

In addition check if push notifications are going thru the network used by the app.

  1. No Kiosk mode is not enabled

As Rafael suggested, You can try using Zebra MX (StageNow + MDM export + mxconfig legacy Soti script command or Zebra OEMConfig) to configure battery optimization:
