Remote Management Approval Options

Hi Everyone,

Here's the scenario. We'd like to use MobiControl on certain user desktops - no big deal. The problem is that we need the ability to prompt the customer for remote management first.

In our organization, we have single-sign on which give access to LOTS of personal information. Having the ability to remotely manage a desktop while the user is logged in presents significant information security risks.

Is there a way to create a rule/script that generates a user input prompt for remote management approval? This would give us the ability to ensure the user is sitting at the computer while we are remote managing it.

Hi Ben,

MobiControl may already have the feature you are looking for built in, let me help you navigate to where this option can be toggled off or on.

First navigate to the Security tab for all device types-> Select Device Group Permissions->  Select the User/User Groups->  In the Device Groups window pay attention to the selections and the legend at the bottom of the page (make adjustments where necessary)->  Finally while the previously mentioned selections are selected, navigate to the Device Group Permissions->  Deselect the Control Without Notification checkbox and save your changes by selecting the save icon in the bottom right hand corner of the page.

Hope this works to accomplish your goal.

Enjoy.

Please note that it is possible to make all remote control sessions always non-silent for all web-console administrators. In other words, "Control Without Notification"  is always disabled and not a configurable option in device-group-permission in the security tab for any web-console users.  If your company privacy policy requires that, please contact Soti support/professional service team to help you configure that  properly for your MobiControl server.
