Is Mobicontrol compatible with SQL Server Web Edition?
Since Mobicontrol supports SQL Server Express, which is a lower version, I would think it is compatible with the Web version of SQL Server as well.

Thanks for posting your query on SOTI Central.
We don't recommend to use SQL Server Web Edition with MobiControl.
It might work with MobiControl but we don't support such use case due to security reason.
Also there is expected many connection troubles between MobiControl and SQL Server Web, which we also don't support.
Regarding the lower versions of SQL Server Express you can use depends on the version of MobiControl you are using now.
Please refer to the below link and check the version of SQL Server Express for your MobiControl.

Any way in the documentation it does not specify the SQL Server editions supported. It only states SQL Server, but there are Enterprise, Standard, Web, Developer and Express editions.
Mobicontrol Help:
"For deployments of more than 1000 devices, consider using Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or later as more robust versions have numerous scalability and performance improvements."
SQL Server Web edition is a more robut version.

You are right.
The documentation is not so specific. It does not mention about SQL edition.
For the database more than 10GB, SQL Standard should be used while SQL Express can be used for the database of less than 10GB.
I will ask our team to update our official document with more specific information.
