How can I disable Google Play Protect? I receive a warning when installing apps from SOTI. I want automatic installation.
Hi Ismail,
The easiest way to do this is to allow USB Debugging in the feature control and then pop the device into developer mode and disable play protect at the device level.
You wouldn't be able to natively do this through the MDM nor any MDM as far as I am aware - please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I actively campaigned with Google to have Google Play Protect ignore or bypass the scanning of private enterprise apps installed by an EMM. This was implemented 2 years ago and I have not had issues with GPP ever since.
It was a big breakthrough at the time. If you are seeing GPP come up I question whether you actually trully have an established known PHA (potentially harmful application) on your hands. Some of the permissions and access it references would indicate that the app has some potentially dangerous capabilities.
Same here, we sideload apps via Mobicontrol via package (just sometimes for testing) and entrerprise app policy (every day) and donÄt see such message popping up in any case.
And as you tried to "hide" the app name i guess, you know about it being a harmful app...
Hi Rafael, thank you very much for your comment as well. Since the app belongs to a client of mine, I prioritize their privacy, so it wasn’t hidden for any other reason.
Hi Matt, thank you very much for your valuable feedback and support. The issue was resolved after updating the app.
