Lot of Problems after Upgrading MobiControl to Version 2024.1.1.1053

Hi all,

we have updatet our MobiControl installation to Version 2024.1.1.1053. First the installation routine was working much better then in the past. But we have a lot of Problems afterwards.

- no remote control at Honeywell CK65 devices

- all Relocations Rules are missing

- it's not possible to install plugin on Zebra TC77 and Honeywell CK65 devices, even during the enrollment process

- it's not possible to update the Agent of the XTrem Hubs, so they are not compliant and did not work, i have updatet one Hub manually, Agent is installed and compliant but the hub did not download any file / profile. 

We have already opend a couple of cases, but maybe i've got a faster response and some tipps here.

Problem is solved by set the follwing parameter in the toggles.config from true to false

I am curious, what version where you upgrading from?

We also experience issues after upgrading on-prem server from 15.6.6 to 2024.1.1

At first everything looked OK, but after updating some of our profiles we see that most of the assigned devices are stuck on “Pending Install” status. A few devices get installed now and then, but most of the devices don’t.

It also seems to be something wrong with the profile filtering and how this works (also after indexing the used properties), especially the “Is Not” operator is giving some unexpected values.

Anyone ells have similar problems?

We have contacted support, but they stated that no one ells have reported any similar problems on 2024.1.1 yet.

It's good to read such things here as we are very looking forward to upgrading to 2024.1.1 from 15.6.5 but the issues reported here are not a good sign.

Agreed. We have been patiently waiting for 2024.1.1 given the numerous issues with all of the prior 2024.x versions and are now disappointed to hear that even 2024.1.1 is launching in such a buggy state. I find it funny that SOTI sent out a large email blast yesterday alerting end customers that v15,x is going end of life and that they need to move to v2024+ when we still have yet to see a solid stable release of 2024.x.

Hi Oyvind, 

I have several customers with the issue "Pending Install". 
It doesn't matter if it version 2024.0.1 or 2024.1.1 
The support has no clue what we can do to fix this issue. 

We have atleast two active cases with them. 

We think it's not a mobicontrol issue but agent issue as this issue seem be independent from the Soti version as we see this issue on 15.6.5 (server version) as well.

I think for some reason the agent doesn't get the correct information (profile installed) and sends this (maybe wrong) information to the server which shows it then as well still as pending.

We have now rolled back to 15.6.6

Production is back to normal, and profiles are now installing as expected again. The device agent has not changed, so I suspect this issue is related to the server version and not the agent.

We also had a case opened with support in this matter. With more or less the same result as you. I must say that’s concerning, especially since 2024.1.1 was communicated by SOTI representatives as a recommended “stable release”.

I hope we can get a comment from SOTI on this soon.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with 2024.1.1! This is super valuable as we're all evaluating this upgrade to what was supposed to be the stable release. I hope that everyone can continue sharing their experiences with 2024.1.1 to this thread so that we all can be on the lookout and aware of any known issues. I'm upgrading a test environment to 2024.1.1 this weekend and should have my own experiences to share soon.

The experience that I collected so far: 

-Pending Install only happens to "OnPremise" installation 
-Support don't know who to fix it. 
-We have the Issue since v2024.0.1
-Version 15.6.6 with latest MobiControl Agent works stable. 


At our system all functions are now working as expected and all issues are solved !

Thanks Mark! Were there any interventions required by yourself or SOTI support to get your problems addressed?

We've got an patch from Soti, we had to change an dll file on all DS
