Is there a way to disabling the Set PIN in the samsung settings so that the Pin can only be changed in Admin mode or via SOTI?
The work around would be to have a scheduled script running to set the device to the desired PIN but I wondered if there was a way of stopping the user from changin git in the first place
I can't recall I have ever seen such function on Samsung MDM api. Your clever workaround is something simple enough to achieve more or less what you want.
We do the same workaround here but because of other reasons.
Try following (in Soti Console):
- goto settings ... where you can enter/change the pin
- send the script identify_activity
- take a look into the logs
- blacklist what is shown in the logs
Never tried that for the PIN.
I tried to add it via Application Run Control but it didnt work,
When you open the setting page it reports the activity
(Current activity name: com.android.settings/.homepage.SettingsHomepageActivity)
then when you try and change the pin reports it as
(Current activity name: com.android.settings/.password.ChooseLockPassword)
But adding this to the blacklist didnt help
