File Sync max file size and resume

We are looking at using a File Sync rule to be able to push a large file down (436mb) to our Android devices to update CoPilot Maps over the air.

Is there a maximum file size that File Sync supports uploading to devices?

And if so, does the File Sync resume where it left off if network communications are lost to the device?

Just for for reference, our SOTI MobiControl version is 14.2.3.1069 if that is likely to make a difference

Hi Jez Redgate,

Thanks for posting your query!

There is no such limitation on file size in File Sync. There are instances where packages up to a few GB was pushed to the devices using File Sync. Watch out though, if the connection isn't great you can get disconnected a lot. Large files to many devices will also put a heavy load on the Deployment Server.

Also, if you are on MobiControl V14+ the File Sync will resume where it was left off if network communications are lost to the device.

Regards,

I don't know of an exact upper limit but I regularly use File Sync to push Android OS Updates that are upwards of 1.2GB so 436MB should be fine. File Sync resumes where it left off if there is a network disconnect. There may be a file size restriction on the device itself depending on the storage capacity.
