Problem Accessing the SOTI MobiControl Web Console Due to a Permission Issue

Issue Description

The user tries to access SOTI MobiControl from SOTI Identity but is redirected to an error page displaying the following message:

You do not have permission to access the MobiControl Web Console.

  • SOTI Identity

Cause

The SOTI Identity user either has no role assigned in SOTI Identity or has been assigned an incorrect role.

Issue Resolution

Grant the user with the appropriate role for a SOTI MobiControl application in SOTI Identity. 

The default available roles are:

  • MobiControl Administrators
  • MobiControl BYOD Users
  • MobiControl Technicians
  • MobiControl Viewers

As an administrator, use the following steps to grant user permissions in SOTI Identity: 

1. Log in to the SOTI Identity portal.

2. Navigate to the main menu and select Users

3. Select the name of the user whose role needs to be assigned or updated.

4. At the top of the window, select the Assign Applications button.

5. Under the Direct Assigned Apps section, hover over the SOTI MobiControl application and select the pencil icon to edit the user's assignment.

6. From the drop-down list, select the appropriate role to assign to the user.
