Issue Description
After upgrading the SOTI Snap Device Agent from 2026.0.0 or 2026.1.0 to 2026.1.1, devices configured to launch a Lockdown App may remain on the "Setting things up" screen instead of entering Lockdown mode automatically. Although the Lockdown configuration is successfully downloaded, the Lockdown App is not initialized. The issue occurs only during the first launch after upgrading the SOTI Snap Device Agent.
Environment
- SOTI Snap 2026.1.1
- SOTI MobiControl Android Agent 2026.1.4 and below
- Android devices enrolled with SOTI MobiControl and running a SOTI Snap Lockdown App
Symptoms
Users may observe one or more of the following:
- The device remains on the "Setting things up" screen after the SOTI Snap Agent upgrade.
- The SOTI Snap Lockdown App does not launch automatically.
- The device does not enter Lockdown mode until the Home button is pressed.
Cause
The root cause occurs due to a Lockdown initialization synchronization issue between SOTI Snap and SOTI MobiControl after the SOTI Snap device agent upgrade is completed.
Issue Resolution
A SOTI MobiControl 2026.1.5 Android Agent hotfix will be released to resolve this issue. Once available, proceed to upgrade the SOTI MobiControl Android Agent on affected devices to 2026.1.5.
Workarounds
Perform the following steps as a workaround for this issue:
1. Select the Home button when the “Setting things up” screen appears to not progress forward in the SOTI Snap device agent.
2. The device will close the window and begin the Lockdown initialization process.
3. The Lockdown App launches successfully.
