Issue Description

When Installing SOTI XSight 2024.0.0, you get an error message after inputting SOTI MobiControl user credentials. This error prevents the installation process from continuing.

Environment

This issue can arise in any cloud or on-premise environment where SOTI XSight 2024 installer is being run.

Symptoms

During the installation of SOTI XSight 2024.0.0, when you’re prompted to enter the SOTI MobiControl user credentials (also known as the SOTI XSight service user) and you click Next, you may encounter this error message: “Failed to check MobiControl account: data error”. This error blocks the installation process.

Cause

The root cause is incorrect SOTI XSight service user credentials entered in the installer when prompted. The SOTI XSight 2024.0.0 installer validates the user credentials before proceeding. 

Issue Resolution

To resolve this issue, enter the correct SOTI XSight service user credentials when prompted by the installer.
