Situation

This information is useful for clients that need to use Smart Switch Mobile to perform backups and restores on Samsung devices.

Process Description

SOTI MobiControl 15.5 and earlier:

1. Create a new app policy and find Samsung Smart Switch Mobile on Google Play.

2. Select the app, search for it in the list, and then select the settings option on the right.

3. Go to Managed App Config and toggle the Smart Switch Run toggle on.

4. Save and then assign it to the desired group/device.

5. Access the Samsung Smart Switch to verify it's working properly. After granting all permissions, the app should appear as shown in the photo below, indicating it is functioning correctly.

SOTI MobiControl 15.6 and later:

Note: If the app is not installed, add Smart Switch Mobile through the app policy and install it on your device.

1. For newer versions, the OEM configuration can be done through profiles. Go to your desired Profile > Configurations and select OEM Config: Samsung.

2. Select Device Restrictions > Allow Smart Switch on the next screen and toggle it on.

3. Save and then assign it to the desired group/device and verify it is functioning correctly
